GCSE Physical Education Why choose GCSE PE?

PE was definitely one of my favourite subjects during my GCSEs. The content was very interesting and nothing like anything I had learned before. Paper 1 content was extremely helpful to GCSE biology as there were many crossovers, so it benefitted my biology grade. The practical side was also very enjoyable, especially the rock-climbing trip. Many of us had never done this sport before; we enjoyed every minute of it and were fortunate enough use it as one of our 3 sports for our final grade. The coursework is also interesting as you analyse and evaluate different aspects of your own sport. The class was very interactive and the teacher’s talk to you instead of at you, they make sure you understand the content instead of just “knowing it”. Overall, I miss PE and I couldn’t recommend it enough! PE was my favourite lesson! The course content is really interesting which made it a lot easier to learn, and of course the teachers made it so fun (favourite teachers!). The atmosphere in my PE class was always very enthusiastic so I really looked forward to the lessons. One of the best parts is when you get to go rock climbing which was a very enjoyable and funny experience, even though I had never really done it before. I would definitely recommend GCSE PE! Why choose GCSE PE? I picked GCSE PE because I’ve always had an interest in sport as I played football for many years and I wanted to learn the physiology and psychology factors as well. I found the physiology the most interesting because you learn the anatomy of the body in depth and how movements occur during physical activity So far, we have covered anatomy and physiology, the effects of physical training, sports psychology, socio-cultural influences on sport and health, fitness and wellbeing. I love the course because I want to pursue a career in Physiotherapy. I would definitely recommend to people who have an interest in the science of sport and what happens to your body both physically and mentally when you play sport.

PE was always my favourite lesson because it was never boring, the teachers always came up with a way to make the lesson more fun and interactive. The teachers were always so supportive, especially when it came to our coursework. They worked extremely hard with us so that we could reach the top marks that they knew we deserved. I would definitely encourage you to choose PE because it was the perfect balance between having fun and learning the content. I would definitely recommend taking GCSE PE. The teachers were always so supportive and helped us achieve the grades that they knew we deserved. The lessons were always fun and the content we were learning was interesting too. My favourite part was definitely rock climbing it was so enjoyable and a really good experience. Honestly it was 100% my favourite lesson Why choose GCSE PE? The teachers are so supportive and always encourage you to reach to your full potential. They teach the course really well with a range of activities/tasks which help you to remember the content. It was my favourite subject, and I would encourage anyone to take it. My daughter loved her GCSE PE, it was brilliantly structured, organised and taught which supported her revision and meant she was well prepared for the exams. We had initially been concerned about how she would get evidence for 3 sports, although she is a keen hockey player, she wasn’t really participating in many other sports. However, we need not have worried the PE department encouraged her and introduced her to other sports. She ended up submitting evidence for badminton with support from Mark in the after school club, and she was taken rock climbing by the PE department and ended up submitting a result from that too. She is now enjoying her PE A-level. Thank you!
