GCSE Art & Design Course Components • Personal Portfolio(60%) The Personal Portfolio is a selection of the very best work you have produced during the course, mostly taken from Years 10 and 11. It includes preparatory work: sketches, observational drawings, paintings, prints, photography, artist investigations, sculptures, ceramics and digital work. It also includes your final outcomes: finished pieces in different media. As the course progresses, you will be given increasing amounts of freedom and choice to develop your own ideas, style and visual language. You will also visit art exhibitions, will have opportunities to exhibit your work and will work with professional artists. During the final exam itself, you are given 10 hours to complete a major piece of finished artwork over two days in school.
