Game Plan Against Female Bullying Skits Activity 1
Game Plan Against Female Bullying
Skits Activity 1: Gossip Skit Have 4 or 5 female students in a group talking. As one student leaves, the others in the group begin gossiping about her. Continue this until only 2 students remain. Concentrate the focus on how harmful this is to the other’s emotions. Remind everyone that friendship is based on trust and concern for one another.
Skits Activity 2: Cyber Bullying Have 2 or 3 female students talking about cyber messaging. Have 1 student bring up a negative message from a site (instant messaging, myspace, facebook, etc. ). Have the student show the message impacts her (rage, embarrassment, etc. ). Focus on how this form of bullying is extremely damaging. Remind the students that, just because it is not face to face, it is just as harmful. Also, point out that cyber bullying can be seen by many people, not just the intended target.
Questions: Skit Discussion 1. Does gossiping make someone a better person? 2. How would a person react to gossip about them? 3. What would make someone gossip about someone else? 4. Is there a difference between posting something on the Internet and saying something to someone’s face?
Journal Entry Have students record their activities with others for two days. They must include all types of interactions and conversations. Have the students analyze what they write. Questions: 1. Did they deliberately exclude or degrade someone? Did they feel excluded or degraded? 2. How do their actions or the actions against them make them feel? 3. What could they do to make each situation feel more comfortable? 4. Would you act differently if you knew how it could hurt someone?
