What We Do • • • AFJROTC is a CADET-RUN program Cadets PLAN, DEVELOP, DELEGATE, and RUN ALL JROTC Events and Activities Ideally– Instructors are Mentor-Guides WE will be respectful and honor the Cadet Code WE will WORK and be rewarded when we finish AFJROTC is the “face” of the USAF in many communities!

What We Do • Co-Curricular Activities– Power Squad, Color Guard, Drill Team, Academic Team, Rocketry, Multi-Copter, Sabre, Rifle, Basketball, etc. • Community Service: Cleanup, Community Events • Curriculum-In-Action “CIA”: Base Visits, Military Ball, Dining Out, Cadet Summer Camps, etc. • Academics, Tuesday Team Building, PT, etc.

AFJROTC Uniforms and Drill • Distributed Sat, August 12 th. • First Inspection: Wed, August 16 th • Must be in uniform ALL DAY…Athletics not excused. (same for PT). Service Jacket left in school • Only Excused absences accepted • No uniform = ZERO…makeup -10, -20 pts.

AFJROTC Physical Training… “PT” • • • Every Friday… 1 st Friday each month cleanup PT Leader designs classes a month out/submits PT Leader tracks uniform wear & participation Cadets MUST dress out, participate to get points Only valid doctor’s notes will be accepted Presidential Fitness Test 2 x/year

AFJROTC Community Service • • JROTC: must have 25 hrs per semester (buses? ) Parades, Retirement Homes, Home/Away Cleanup, Operations Group/Activities Sqdn tracks events *Includes Ceremonies at area schools.

AFJROTC Rank and Positions Cadet Officers do not wear insignia consisting of stripes. In Air Force Junior ROTC, cadet officers wear the cadet officer insignia on their hats (enlisted cadets never wear rank insignia on hats). Additionally, while enlisted cadets wear their insignia on their collars, cadet officers wear their rank insignia on the epaulets, or on the collar of the uniforms without epaulets. Cadet officers outrank all enlisted cadets. Special note: However, because the Command Chief Master Sergeant works directly for our unit's group commander, it would be a foolish cadet lieutenant indeed who tried to impose authority over the CCMSgt. The same practical guideline applies at lower levels of command, as well. For example, as the squadron first sergeant works directly for the squadron commander, it would be a foolish officer to try and impose authority over the first sergeant. Enlisted cadets are required to salute all cadet officers and commissioned officers. Cadet officers are required to salute superior cadet and commissioned officers. Just like the enlisted corps, cadet officers take rank and precedence over all airmen, NCOs and other cadet officers according to rank. Within the same rank, the date of rank, years in AFJROTC and date of birth determine the process. Responsibility and accountability increase commensurate with rank. Within each rank, responsibility for leading rests on the individual who is senior in rank.

Columbus Day programs that school children across the country first recited the Pledge of Allegiance this way: I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all. In 1954, at President Dwight D. Eisenhower's urging, the Congress legislated that “under God” be added, making the pledge read: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
