The Goodwill Education Center provides educational facilities to equip its students with life skills and how to create solutions to the problems they face The Education Center has a student population of over 5000 students whom over 6000 are under the full load program offers over 15 courses where only 5 are undergraduate and graduate programs which are in the range of the arts, professional studies, technology and sciences
History The institution has been in existence for two years after its formation in 2014 initial concept for the formation of this institution was that it would be a traditional campus The Education Center continued its operations until it outgrew its facilities such that there was a need to expand overcome the challenges it was facing the Education Center opened its first Institution to offer courses via the online platform
Trends in Education significant changes realized in the education sector requires that the students evolve with time stakeholders in the education sector should consider the transformations that occur in various sectors coupled with what is happening in education It is essential to analyze the current trends to develop strategies that will enable reasonable transformation in the education sector
Alternative credentialing Theme focuses on the alternative methods that educators can use for assessing a student’s ability to pursue higher learning These alternatives include Mini degreees, Nano degrees and Specializations Student demand The student is exposed to various platforms that gives them access to informal learning The exposure to real-time learning materials enables students to acquire knowledge faster than in the past. Employer support: evident in the technology and the financial industries where there seems to be a shortage of a skilled workforce Government Support: This is evident in the manner in which many governments strive for opportunities to provide low cost education while increasing access. This means that governments are willing to invest in the alternative learning alternatives that occur in learning institutions.
Experimentation in new teaching methodologies This is a trend that educators need consider because it relates to the learning space. The traditional education model is experiencing a significant transformation that appears to disrupt learning processes because of the emerging technologies The new models aim to improve the system such that educators can serve learners adequately Some of the new learning modes that the school board seeks to implement include the Lab School, and the large scale program
personalized learning that is student driven The current learning environment focuses on institution driven programs that may not be beneficial to students in such institutions The need to develop personalized learning programs that focuses on the needs of the student is inevitable This approach also allows students to have the capability to contribute to their learning through discussion, and collaboration
Vision and plan The strategic vision for the institution includes introducing models that allows educators to teach with innovation and distinction using diverse academic modules. The floor plan for the next five years needs to maximize on the space that is usable in the classroom setting. The space should also reflect on the expected teaching styles of the educators in the institution. The quality of the floor will depend on the functions of the classroom. Plan for change prepare managers in charge of the organization’s leadership in understanding various elements of change admitting that there would be implications of the changes Early communication acknowledge emotions increasing emotional intelligence
Call for action Implement strategies to improve its capacity and image. Implement a number of transformations to allow it to improve its infrastructure to a more stable system Equip the management with knowledge to enable it focus on service delivery
