Fundamentals of Basic Skin Care and Dermatology COSM 101 Goals and Objectives • Instructional Module Goal: • Students will demonstrate the ability to efficiently administer a facial and will also illustrate the proficiency in explaining skin care issues and dermatology terms and conditions • Performance Based Objectives: 1. Instruction and assistance will be provided via classroom setting, personal conference and web accessibility according to the instructor’s directions. 2. Instruction will include hands on training, and partnering with spas and dermatologists for training and skin skills and dermatology basics.
Fundamentals of Basic Skin Care and Dermatology COSM 101 Summative Assessment Students skills and knowledge will be evaluated through: • Testing (multiple choice, performance evaluations, walkthrough physical testing). • Classroom/group activities • Open discussion • In class presentations (group and individual) • Summative: After completion of the program students will demonstrate how to inform their clients of basic skin and dermatology care, as well as perform facials and spa like treatment.
