WHY FUNDRAISING IS IMPORTANT • Fundraising helps your BAP chapter put on events • Meet the professionals • Spring Banquet • Provides more opportunities for student members

INCREASING STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES • Money can be a barrier for students • We used fundraising to help eliminate all members fees for our chapter • Helps increase student involvement • Helps pay to send students to networking events

FUNDRAISING TIPS • Think of one large event per year to target donations • Make this event something that is easy to repeat • Avoid smaller fundraisers like bake sales • A lot of effort with little payoff

OUR DESSERT DASH • Largest fundraiser of the year • Raised $3, 000 our first year • Easy addition to our spring banquet event • Easy way to ask and prepare alumni and professionals to donate

AUCTION ITEMS • Asked CPA review courses (Becker and Wiley) to provide us with free courses to auction off to students in a fundraiser • Great way to fundraise extra funds • Not a ton of extra work • Don’t be afraid to ask businesses for donations! People want to help.

SUMMARY • Think of something unique to appeal to donors • Concentrate effort on one large fundraiser a year • Avoid bake sales • Don’t be afraid to ask for money or other donations!
