Pumpkin Blossom • This yellow blossom will turn into a pumpkin soon after it opens.
Pumpkin Field • When pumpkins are ripe, they turn orange and their stems wither and die.
Pick-Up Truck • After they ripen, they are put on trucks and taken to pumpkin patches.
Pumpkin Patch • A pumpkin patch is a place with a lot of pumpkins for sale. • The pumpkins are usually kept on the ground.
Buying a Pumpkin • Parents and their children visit pumpkin patches to buy pumpkins for Halloween.
Gigantic Pumpkin • This pumpkin is gigantic. • Gigantic means very, very large.
Removing Pulp and Seeds • To make a jack-olantern you need to cut off the top. • Then you need to take out the seeds and the pulp.
Pumpkin Pulp and Seeds • The inside of a pumpkin has pulp and seeds.
Carving the Face • After you remove the seeds and pulp, you carve a face on the pumpkin. • You can draw the face with a pencil.
Roasted Seeds • Roasted pumpkin seeds taste delicious. • This is a mixture of pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and sunflower seeds.
