Student Overview • The College has around 12, 000 learners, the breakdown is approximately

Student Overview • The College has around 12, 000 learners, the breakdown is approximately as follows: – 5, 000 are 16 -18 full-time – 1, 100 are Apprentices – 5, 000 adult learners, including Community Learning, ESOL, Skills for Life – 500 Higher Education students – 500 are in work placed learning – 500 are 14– 16 learners

From Property & Finance to the student experience • A clear mission • Change was required and desired • The board has become balanced – quality, finance and property • New appointment at Senior Post Holder Level • The first agenda items at the full board always relate to students, their outcomes, their experience or teaching and learning • Two key committees, with a link between them: – Business Services – Quality and Standards

Finance, accomodation and resources • Governors support for investments to address areas for improvements – New teaching staff – Investment in areas that needed to improve – A new Senior Manager for Employer facing provision – New accommodation – New social space for students • A key role of Governors is to ensure the college; through staff, resources and accommodation have the potential to be outstanding in every area – taking away the excuses! • Critical to link finance and quality together
