z Frog Facts Ø Frogs are amphibians Ø Amphibians live part of their life in water and the other part of it on land Ø There are more that 6, 000 species of frog Ø Frogs have strong back legs so they can leap forward at a great distance Ø Frogs have webbed feet for swimming Ø Most frogs have a sticky tongue Ø A baby frog is called a tadpole Ø Frogs hibernate in Winter Ø Frogs can lay as many as 4, 000 eggs in frogspawn
z Habitat Ø Frogs can be found almost anywhere except Antarctica Ø More frogs are found in warmer countries Ø You can find frogs in water or near places that have water like ponds and streams Ø Frogs can also live in sand dunes, rainforests, woodlands and even parks and gardens Ø Frogs lay their eggs in water Ø The eggs hatch into tadpoles that have tails and internal gills
