Fritz Zuber-Buhler foi um pintor suíço no estilo do Classicismo Acadêmico, nascido em Le Locle, em 1822. Biography : Fritz Zuber-Buhler was a Swiss painter of the Academic Classicism style, born in Le Locle, in 1822. At sixteen years of age he moved to Paris, France, where he met his first teacher, Louis Grosclaude. Later, he studied at the “École des Beaux-Arts” and refined his technical skills with François-Édouard Picot, who followed the same lineage of contemporaneous artists. Afterwards , he spent some time in Italy in search of inspiration. Fritz also may have studied in Berlin. After five years abroad, he came back to Paris, where he made his debut in the “Salon” in 1850. Fritz made oil paintings , drawings , pastels and watercolors. He painted mythological and religious themes, as well as commissioned portraits. He exhibited in the United States, in the “Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts”, where he reached a considerable success. He exhibited in the “Salon”, in Paris, in 1891. He died in Paris on November 23, 1896. Fritz’works are found in museums in Berne, Le Locle, Montpellier and Neuchatel. Girl with Wreath
