Father of mercy, keep us joyful in our salvation and faithful to your covenant; and as we journey to your Kingdom, ever feed us with the bread of life, your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

NT READING (News International Reader Version)

30 David was a prophet. He knew that God had made a promise to him. God had promised that he would make someone in David’s family line king after him. 31 David saw what was coming. So he spoke about the Messiah rising from the dead. He said that the Messiah would not be left in the place of the dead. His body wouldn’t rot in the ground. 32 God has raised this same Jesus back to life. We are all witnesses of this. 33 Jesus has been given a place of honour at the right hand of God. He has received the Holy Spirit from the Father. This is what God had promised. (Acts 2. 30 -33 a)

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people: All and kindle in us the fire of your love. All who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God and fellow-heirs with Christ: All Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people.

That all people may acknowledge the Kingdom of the Ascended Christ.

‘Thy Kingdom Come’ prayer: that our 5 be woken up to all that they have already received from God in their lives, and all that he offers them in Christ, and that they might praise him.

All Almighty God, your ascended Son has sent us into the world to preach the good news of your kingdom: inspire us with your Spirit and fill our hearts with the fire of your love, that all who hear your Word may be drawn to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER Looking for the coming of the Kingdom, as our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:
