FRIDAY DUA Lesson 1
Vocabulary: Establishment/bringing something into existence ﺍﻻﺷآ Bringing something to life ﺍﻻﻳآ Inexistence ﻧآ All knowledgeable ﺍﻳ Abandoned ﻯ To remember
Vocabulary continued Cut Hope ﺟآ To be sufficient ﻓﻰ Inhabitant, Resident ﺍ Carrying Throne Sent
Vocabulary continued Kind, sort, species, class, category ﻧﺎ Equivalent ﻳ Going Against Change Warning Punishment ﺍﻗﺎ
ﺍﻻ ﺍﻻﺷآ ﺍﻻﻳآ Point of Aqeeda. Means Allah is the first and there is no one before Allah, because he is the first. In other dua’s, LA AWWAL LI AWWALIYATIHI, means He is first but there is no beginning for His start. Allah (swt) created the system of time, so he can never be under the system. We can never say “when” is Allah (swt), because He is unlimited.
ﺍﻻﺷآ ﺍﻻﻳآ Inshaa’a: Establishing a system, bringing something into existing. “Wal Ihyaa”, after establishing the universe, he gave life. Ihyaa: Bringing something to life. Hayat: Life. There was no life previously…. . there was nothing. It was blank, except Allah (S. W. T)
ﺍﻻ ﻧآ ﺍﻻآ Akhir: And he is the last. Fana: inexistence/ Inihilation. There is a day when everything will come to an end, will come to cease, will finish, except for Allah (swt), who is ever-living.
ﺍﻳ Al Aleem: All knowledgeable ﺍﻱ ﻻ ﻯ Who does not abandoned the one who remembers him. Yansa: Abandoned
ﻻ ﻩ People may have decreased in their bounty; He does not deprive those who are thankful to him. Some people may get Allah’s blessings, and some are deprived from His blessings due to their actions. Yanqus: decreases.
ﻋﺎ ﻻ Yukhayibu: Disappointment He does not make those people disappointed, who supplicate to Him/ who makes du’a to him/ who call unto Him.
ﻻ ﺟآ ﺟﺎﻩ And the one who puts hope in him, Allah (swt) never cuts the hope of that person. Means whenever you keep hope in Allah (S. W. T) there is always light at the end, and even if you don’t see the light in this world, there is light in the hereafter, and your hope will not be cut. But if you put your hope in the limited creation in Allah (S. W. T), If they die, your hope gets cut off, or if they become poor, your hope gets cut off. But Allah (swt) is ever-living.
ﻻ ﺟآ ﺟﺎﻩ Continued… Example there is this rich person, and you always keep your hope in him. One day, this rich person becomes poor, and eventually your hope gets cut off. So, go direct to Allah (S. W. T) or the pure Representatives, where the hope does not get cut off.
ﻻ ﺟآ ﺟﺎﻩ Continued… Example: If someone is helping you and you go against him, then he will stop helping you. If something happens, then Allah (swt) is still there. Allah will make another gate/way for you …WAMAN YATTAQIL LAH YAJ 3 AL- LAHU MAKHRAJA (whoever fears displeasing Allah he will make Exists, if one door is closed he will open tens and tens of doors).
ﻟ ﺇ ﻱ ﻓﻰ ﻳﺪ After the praising, he starts the testimony. Ush-hidoka: I am making you as a testifier and you are my witness. I am witnessing Ya Allah…. . I am keeping you my Witness. And if you are my witness, then that is sufficient for me, I don’t need any other witnesses.
ﻟ ﺇ ﻱ ﻓﻰ ﻳﺪ Continued… Why does Imam (as) want to put the angels, malaika and khalq (creation) the witness? ? ? Number one, He is trying to teach lessons to others, that, there is no god except Allah (swt), Because if he keeps Allah as a witness, then that’s enough as a testifier. He doesn’t need another witnesses, but it’s an Educational process. This dua was recited loudly, so Imam (as) was trying to tell everybody, that there is no God but Allah (swt), the supreme Lord.
ﻟ ﺇ ﻱ ﻓﻰ ﻳﺪ Continued… Number two, is the expression of the oneness of Allah. You are one witness, but Ya Allah I want to tell each and every single creation, that you are one…. . So Imam (as) had that kind of enthusiasm and excitement about Allah (swt).
، ﺍ ﻣﻮﺍ ، ﻳ ﻻ ﺵ And I also witness and let all the angels witness, and the people of the heavens, And those who are carrying the thrown (the superiors angels who have the command of Allah (S. W. T) to run the whole universe).
ﻳآ And I’m making witness all those prophets that you have sent, And the messengers that you have sent. ﻧﺎ ﻙ And all those creation fish, birds mammal reptile. Everything I’m brining them as my witness.
ﺍﻟ ﻻ ﺇﻟ ﺇﻻ ﻱ I am witnessing that you are Allah…There is no God other than you. ﻻﻳﻙ You are alone; there is no partner or associate to you.
ﻻﻳ No Equivalent ; no one can compare your word. No one is equal to you. No one is side by side to you. No one can bring speech like the Quran, not even the Imam and not even the Prophets…. but they can learn from it.
ﻻ ﻻ And what ever you say, your saying is One. There is no one QOWL equal to your QOWL. There is No going against you. Khulf: Going against, Wala tabdeel: no change. Allah(S. W. T) says things and changes it himself, through his power.
ﻻ ﻻ Continued. . For example: Allah(S. W. T) said to prophet yonus (A. S) that his community is going to perish after 3 days , and then he changed his decision… he did not make them perish. Allah (S. W. T) told Prophet Ibrahim to slaughter Ismael, and there was a change in his word. Allah (S. W. T) sometimes makes a person live, and he decides to take away his life.
ﻻ ﻻ Continued. . But Imam Zainul Abedeen (as) said, that there is no change in your word…. but there was a change…. so how can you respond? ? The knowledge of Allah is not changeable, its fixed. There is no change in the knowledge of Allah (S. W. T). This statement refers to the knowledge of Allah (swt).
ﺩ ﻯ ﺍﻟ ﻭآ ﻭ And verily Muhammad (SAWW) and his pure family are your true servants and Prophets (lineage). ﻯ ﻣﺎ ﺇﻯ ﺍﺑﺎ He fulfilled what you gave him (the responsibility). You made him carry a responsibility towards your servants, and he fulfilled it. Hamla: carrying.
ﺟﺎ ﻱ ﺍﻟ ]ﻋﻭﺟﻞ ﺥ ﻝ [ ﺍﻫﺎ And he strived for the sake of Allah(S. W. T. ) the best of the true strive, not riya, neither hypocrisy, and neither to show off, but he strived the true strive, for the sake of Allah(S. W. T. ). ﺍﻟ ﻭﺍ ﻣﺎ And the Glad tiding which he gave, he gave the glad tiding of true thawab, the real thawab, not the fake one…. not the Abu hurayra type. It was the true thawab.
ﺍﻗﺎ ﻣﺎ And he gave warning also, he gave ‘basharat’ (glad tidings) and warning. He gave warning towards whatever is true punishment, not a fake punishment to scare the kids.
Now the content start. . Imam is asking Allah something. Until know he was praising and testifying. 1. Imam wants fixation, or firmness on the 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. religion. Prevention from slip and Deviation. Mercy. Follower of the prophet and Ahlul Bayt. Resurrection with Ahulul Bayt and prophet on the day of Judgement. To fulfill the Friday duties
ـ ﻟ ﻱ ﻟﻰ ﻳ ﻣﺎ ﻱ Let me be firm on your religion, as long as I live. These points may be over lapping, firmness of religion does not mean deviation, it also means being with Ahlul Bayt , and being with them in the Akhirah (hence not deviating). If in the Akhirah you’re not with them, then that means that you must have deviated. In the hereafter you will also want to be with them.
ﻻ ﻱ ﺇﻱ And do not let my heart slip and have doubt after you have given me the guidance. ﻱ ﺓ Wahab: Give. I do not deserve your mercy Ya Allah, but Give it to me as gift. You are not asking as a compensation of something that you did. You are asking give me a gift, like TASADAK ALAIYAA (sadaka means giving something without compensation)
ﺇ ﺍﺍ Verily You are the giver, who gives in Abundance. ﻯ ﺩآ ﺩ Send your blessing on Muhammad and the household of Muhammad (S. A. W. W. )
ﺍﻱ ﺑﺎ ﻳ ﺍﻱ ﻱ ﻱ ﻻﺩﺍ ﺍﻋﺎ Make me from his followers(Atbaehe) and specific followers (Shiia’a), and resurrect me among his group (Zumrah). Give me Success (Towfeeq) to fulfill the obligation of the Friday. Means the Friday has special obligation (Fard), we start with Friday prayers.
، ﻳﻬﺎ ﺍﻟ ﺍﻋﺎ ﻣﺎ And what ever wajibat you have made upon me, from the worships, like salat-ul-Jumah, salatul Fajar, salatul Asar, salatul Maghrib, anything which is obligatory (Ta 3 at) let me fulfill them.
ﻻ ﻫﺎ ﺍﻃآ ﻱ ﺍﺯآﺀ And give me success in getting those gifts on the day of judgement. ﺍﻳﻢ ﺇ ﺍﻳ Verily you are the almighty (you can punish me, express your might to me and I will have to submit) and the all wise (you have made the whole creation wisdom, and your mercy comes out of your wisdom, so have mercy upon me).
