Have you ever seen a french film ? There a lot of differences between American cinema and French Cinema. We have some differences like humor in films. « Bienvenue chez les ch'tis » and « Astérix et Obélix » are exemples of the french humor.
Animation Films We have also some animation films like « Arthur et les minimoys » , directed by the famous director Luc Besson. The film was released in the US in 2007. Did you see it ? Luc Besson born 18 March 1959 is a French film dirctor, writer and producer.
Drama films There also famous drama films like « le fabuleux destin d'Amélie poulain » with the famous actress Audrey Tautou. It's a romantic comedy. Amélie won best film at the European Film Awards; it won four César Awards, including Best Film and Best Director
The Lumière Brothers Auguste and Louis Lumière were two brothers. They were both born in Lyon in the 19 th century and died in the 20 th century. They were French chemists and industrialists and they invented the first commercially successful motion-picture projector, they used it in 1895 to create the first motion picture. Since this year the « Grand Lyon Film festival » was created as a tribute to the brother's Lumière in their city, Lyon.
Cannes Festival It was created in 1946. For you it's same that the Oscars. It'a a festival which rewards the actors, directors and films international with a lot of price and the most famous is « la palme d'or » . This year, Cannes festival will begin in the middle of May 2010.
