FREEDOM

• Given first to Adam and Eve. • They misused their freedom. • But God did not give up on the rest of His children. • Decided to come down and break down every barrier between Him and us. • Granted us freedom again.

What are we free from? ! • A lot of people don’t actually understand freedom. • Some people think that being free means that whenever I feel like doing something, I do it, even if it’s wrong. • Does this seem like freedom? • It’s not freedom, it’s actually slavery to sin.

"Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty in which Christ has made us free, do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. " Galatians 5: 1 àFree from the bondage of sin. àSin does not control me.

GOD’S GIFT TO US

• Seek to get back to God; sin is no longer a captive of me, holding me back. I’m free to be with God. No more barriers. Christ broke down every barrier. “as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. ” (1 Peter 2: 16)

True freedom is only found in God. • From Psalm 146 “ The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners… The LORD raises those who are bowed down; ” “I am the way, the truth and the life. ” (John 14: 6) “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ”(John 8: 32)
