FREECLIMB CROP leaders update (for July 4 th) MULTI-SITE COLLECTIONS (MSCs) The MSCs are among the key deliverables of Freeclimb (described at page 29 of the Stage 2 project document (https: //sites. unimi. it/primafreeclimb/project-documents/): WP 3, T 3. 2, Table 8. We need to : 1. double-check the availability of the Partners where the new collection are foreseen: land available and rough number of accessions; please fill te table linked here: https: //drive. google. com/file/d/1 r 4 c 3 L 45 Lc. CWp 7 wbb 6 m 4 e. Vvx. Su/view); later on we need to provide the lists of all the accessions to be propagated; 3. Priority traits: are those from Table 3 of the Stage 2 project document, and they are listed in the above. xls file on Google drive 4. MTA: we can use the draft included at the end of the Consortium Agreement 5. Check the phytosanitary requiments in the concerned countries (for material exchange); 6. Check for the nurseries (one for each crop) were the material should be multiplied: in Italy we can find nurseries for Apricot, Citrus, Peach and possibly Almond 7. Set up the collections design; it could different from partner to partner, depending on the available space : a. small number of accessions and few replicates (3 trees? ): local accessions (and some commercial reference); mainly for descriptive outputs; or: b. medium to high number of accessions (>100? ) : - few replicates (3 trees? ); genetic outputs - more replicates (5 trees? ); genetic and Gx. Ex. M outputs (e. g. Peach. Ref. Pop)
Olive • Greece and Algeria have confirmed, Tunisia is expected • Plant nursery in Greece is available for propagation • Initial communication with relevant authorities in Greece about importation of plants from countries outside E. U. More details will be collected soon. • Main cultivars form Greece as well as Arbequina and Picual are free from pathogens.
