• Priority traits, genetic materials and phenotyping protocols almond Almond scion ideotypes: - Resistance/tolerance to late frost damage - Resistance tolerance to Sharka (Plum Pox Virus, PPV) Task (T) 1. 1 Evaluation of plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses in germplasm collections. M 1 -24. Task leader: INRA-GAFL: an almond collection of 191 accessions will be phenotyped for bud phenology, floral induction and anomalies, and for date of fall of leaves (marker of tolerance to heat stress). Fusicoccum resistance? CRAG/IRTA (Ignasi Batlle): could join for bud phenology and date of fall o leaves… aprox 100 accessions… HAO-DEMETER: Evaluate 7 almond commercial cultivars and 10 local cultivars located in two environments (Naoussa and Vardates) for bud phenology, floral induction and flower quality (floral anomalies), date of fall of leaves. Evaluation of chilling/heat requirements. CU 15 selections form natural populations tolerant to drought stress will be evaluated for Monilinia.
almond • Genotyping strategies: • Genotype everything (INRA-GAFL, CRAG, CU, HAO) with a collection of xx SSRs • Select a Ref. POP and genotype with SNPs (platform to decide) • Planned genetic analyses: • Genetic structure • GWAS (depending on the size of the final population) • Prebreeding activities and multi-site collections: • INRA-GAFL with HAO and ARC? • Expected datasets and links to database: • SSR and SNPs genotypes • Phenology phenotypes (standarise protocols) • Personal exchange: non planned

Prunus interspecif • Multi-site experimental designs: non planned • Genotyping strategies and genetic analysis: • Peach x almond INRA-GAFL: SNPs whole genome (Genomic selection) • Interespecifics CRAG: 18 K SNP array (biparental genetic mapping small populations, we will only see big effects! • Prebreeding activities and multi-site collections: • Vr 3 from almond (CRAG) crossed with tolerant Monilinia accession (UNIMI) • Crosses with individuals with abiotic tolerance to drought stress if they are identified in WP 1 • Expected datasets and links to database: • Genotypes • Phenotypes (standardise protocols) • Personal exchange: • non planned
