Work the plug backward & forwards several times to soften the plug. 2. Premolded Plugs Ø While pulling the ear outward and upward, insert the plugs until the ear feels sealed. Adjust for greatest noise reduction. Ø Fit Test: In the presence of a steady noise, alternately cover and uncover the ears with tightly cupped hands. With properly fitted plugs, noise should seem nearly the same whether or not the ears are covered. Ø Caution: Remove slowly with a twisting motion to gradually break the seal.
