Our project idea Logo of your entity Kurzeme Institute of Humanities (KIH), University of Liepaja has Latvian diachronic and synchronic linguistics research field. The aim and mission of the KIH is scientific research of Latvian cultural heritage, research of language and current culture process. Scientists of KIH perform research in monolingual and bilingual children speech and language development. The project aims at investigating linguistic interactions between children and their teachers and peers in bi/multilingual pre -school and primary classroom settings (the kind of input available to children and the interaction that it generates). The objectives of the project proposal are to investigate § § § frequency and types of linguistic interactions, including translanguaging practices relationship between patterns of interaction and children’s language production discourse strategies that facilitate interaction relationship between ICT-based educational practices and children’s language production teachers’ and children’s speech patterns in terms of lexical diversity and structural complexity This research is intended to promote the understanding of early foreign/ second language interaction in a specific educational and cultural context, provide better language teaching and support in early language learning, and successfully integrate children with a migrant and ethnic minority background in early childhood classrooms, and more broadly in society.
