Strategy: 6
Strategy: Our strategy was to make our members feel that there was a benefit to being a member of BAP. In addition to trying to get more relevant speakers at our meetings, which is always one of our goals, we wanted our members to feel that they were an important part of the Gabelli School of Business and the accounting profession. 6
Strategy: • Freshman Career Exploration IP Classes • Present to all Business School freshmen about our experience within the Gabelli School of Business, the accounting area and BAP. • Gabelli School of Business Major Career Fair • Represent the Public Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Applied Accounting and Finance majors to freshmen and sophomore students. • Woolworth Power Lunches • Discuss accounting careers with freshmen who have demonstrated early academic success and an interest in accounting. • High School Outreach • Provide tours of business school facilities and lead information sessions on accounting and finance to prospective Gabelli students. 6
Results: • Gave BAP a more meaningful presence on campus. • Made students feel that they are an important part of the business school. • Utilized our members as both BAP and Accounting representatives at various on-campus activities and events, therefore reaching more prospective pledges, promoting the profession and increasing current member involvement! • Improved our relationship with other areas of the Gabelli School and the University. 7
