FORCED Using perspective in photography to create illusions. PERSPECTIVE
Optical Illusion An optical illusion is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality. There are three main types: 1. literal optical illusions that create images that are different from the objects that make them 2. Physiological ones that are the effects on the eyes and brain of excessive stimulation of a specific type (brightness, color, size, position, tilt, movement) 3. Cognitive illusions, the result of unconscious inferences.
Forced Perspective Forced perspective is a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. It is used primarily in photography, filmaking, and architecture. It manipulates human visual perception through the use of scaled objects and the correlation between them and the vantage point of the spectator or camera.
