What’s the fuss? For Innovation Criminality follows profit and the economy As knowledge based economy provides more opportunity – that’s where crime will operate
But why? For Innovation Government and enforcement have always had the duty of protecting society The conjunction is if we protect business we protect consumers
RESULT? For Innovation Attractive to criminal enterprises WHY? High Profit – Low Risk Crime Result • Growing threat to consumers • Losses of jobs • Higher taxes, interest rates, insurance, and prices all passed on to the public; WE ALL PAY
