Who is the most important person? • The good news. We are not the most important person. God is. • In Him we see someone more worthy than us. • He is worthy of everything. ( even denying ourselves and embracing the cross ) • In Him we discover our true worth. He loves us and made us for His glory. For God So Loved John 3: 16

FOR GOD • • • In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. He made everything Good. This is His story, His thoughts, work and presence in this world. The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The answer is always found in Him. God invites us to know Him. For God So Loved John 3: 16

SO LOVED THE WORLD • Love and Hate. A broken world. • Why should He love us • Because He is love. • 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might 3: 16 we loved God, but that he loved live through him. 10 This is love: John not that us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. WHY ALL THE HATE • We have Changed the labels • 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed (John 3: 19 – 20) • In her New York Times article “The Trouble with Self Esteem, ” Lauren Slater quotes a researcher who studied criminals and concluded: “The fact John 3: 16 is, we’ve put antisocial men through every self-esteem test we have, and there’s no evidence for the old psychodynamic concept that they secretly feel bad about themselves. These men are racist or violent because they don’t feel bad enough about themselves. ” For God So Loved

THE JOY LIGHT BRINGS • We do not know what Love is and therefore we are not able to understand appreciate true beauty and meaning that can only found in a Holy God. • 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. (John 3: 21) • His Light shines so that we may be free. For God So Loved John 3: 16 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13: 1

LOVE such was the love of Christ for us, that He did, as it were, spend Himself for our sakes. His love did not rest in mere feeling, nor in light effort or small sacrifices, but though we were enemies, yet He loved us, that He had a heart to deny Himself, and undertake the greatest efforts, and undergo the greatest sufferings, for our sakes. GOD LOVES THE WORLD • God Loves all of us. • 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
