Education • Government educating citizens of methods to improve food safety and handling • Personal Hygiene • Washing hands and kitchen utilities • Adequate Cooking • Use of kitchen thermometers • Prevent cross-contamination • Refrigerate food
Regulation • Federal government (FDA) regulation changes to factory farming • Change from factory farming to free range farming • Removes use of antibiotics in livestock • Prevents use of lagoons • Healthier livestock leads to less contaminations, outbreaks and foodborne illnesses

Conclusion • Nearly 3, 000 deaths are caused by foodborne illnesses. This can come from unsafe food, poor handling of food or from the factory that processes the food. Informing, education and regulation(s) can help improve the sustainability of our food supply to reduce outbreaks and foodborne illnesses.
