Food Service Management – History • Current services are being provided by Aramark Educational Services, LLC • In 2011, Northwest ISD solicited proposals and the Board of Trustees awarded a five year agreement to Aramark Educational Services, LLC • Now, in 2016, the five year agreement is ending and NISD is required to re-bid these services

Food Service Management – Requirements • The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Food and Nutrition Division is the governing body for School Nutrition • School Food Authorities (SFA), School Districts are required to solicit for proposals/bids at least every five years • RFP templates are available from TDA which includes necessary information for Food Service Management Companies (FSMC) to respond

RFP Requirements • Information includes: proposed budget, menus, projected enrollment and participation, current staffing, etc. • Once the RFP is developed, it must approved by TDA before advertisement • Invitations to respond to the RFP must be sent to TDA approved Food Service Management Companies

NISD RFP • RFP # 016 -021 -02 -016 was advertised and released on February 22, 2016 • A pre-bid meeting was held on March 7, 2016 in which prospective companies asked questions and attended a guided tour of 3 NISD campuses (elementary, middle school and high school) • The RFP closed on March 23, 2016

NISD RFP Schedule • Responses are being tabulated and evaluated by a committee of NISD Administrators • Each response will be scored against the criteria/weights published in the RFP • A recommendation for award will be brought to the April 25, 2016 Board of Trustees meeting • The agreement included in the RFP of the selected FSMC must also be approved by TDA
