SKILLS GATHERED The 3 skills I’ve gathered in the last two trimesters include: Photoshop, In. Design and Research. Photoshop allowed me to make my work more creative a create what ever I want to meaning I could have more of a creative side to my work. In. Design means that I can create an interactive side to my projects by making books. Research allowed to find more information in a more professional way than just using the internet, now I can find my own primary research for my projects and so can use more professional skills. Since joining the course I’ve mainly improved on my audio, editing and writing. Before my audio skills were very basic with only really knowing how to recorded and edit on a simple software. But now I know where to use my sound effects in the correct area to give a better atmosphere and editing my audio on more industry software means I could see myself using it in my future. I’ve improved on my editing, before I would only proofread once myself, now I have at least 3 drafts of my work and ask others to read so that my work can be at the highest standard. When I started my writing skills were more focused to story writing and journalistic however I’ve learnt a lot more writing techniques such as script writing and poetry so now I can use more techniques in projects such as the FMP. The piece of work I am most proud of is the poster I created on Photoshop based on the movie: ‘The Lost Boys. ’ This being because everything I’ve learnt is shown in this one poster, from overlay to text. From not really knowing how to use the software, I’m pound that in a few weeks I was able to create a poster that could be seen as professional standard.

SKILLS GATHERED The medium I think is my strongest and the one I enjoy the most is writing. When I write I’m comfortable and focused on what I’m doing meaning that I can write as myself. Plus when someone reads my work they can interpret in anyway and it allows me to explore all types of different areas. The medium I’m least confident with and would like to improve would be audio. I enjoy the recording however when it comes to editing I feel like I could improve on the skills I’ve learnt as they are still pretty basic and so I want to use audio more to improve on it.

I agree with everything that was said. With my weaknesses I’m going to improve on them in the FMP, such as with research I’m going to do a bigger range than just using the internet I’m going to do interviews, find books/magazines and other types of research.

RESEARCH IDEAS For my research I’m going to look at big range of subjects. This meaning books, magazines, interviews, surveys, the internet and even some documentary's. I’ve already gathered some research by looking at the magazines: Cosmopolitan (April 2017) and the Observer magazine (26 th March 2017). With these both being two very different magazines it meant I was able to get an idea what a young adult would want. Plus I’ve found some documentary's by the journalist John Pilger and some more art and world focused ones. I’m going to watch documentary’s as I’m not sure on what to write the article about and so by watching a variety of documentaries I hope to find a good article topic.
