Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse (December 5, 2016, Final Rule) l Motor carriers, Medical Review Officers (MROs), Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs), and consortia/third party administrators (C/TPAs) to report: Verified positive, adulterated, and substituted drug test results, positive alcohol test results, test refusals, negative return-to-duty test results, and information on follow-up testing. l Motor carriers would be required to report actual knowledge of traffic citations for driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) while under the influence (DUI) of alcohol or drugs. l Compliance date: January 6, 2020. –

FMCSA Medical Standards - Diabetes September 19, 2019 - FMCSA published new requirements concerning drivers with insulin-treated diabetes mellitus (ITDM). l Interstate drivers with ITDM are no longer required to obtain an exemption from FMCSA. l The treating clinician (TC), the healthcare professional who manages, and prescribes insulin for the treatment of the individual's diabetes, must provide an ITDM Assessment Form to the certified ME indicating that the individual maintains proper control of his or her diabetes. l Medical examiners may issue individuals with ITDM a Medical Certificate for up to a maximum of 12 months. l
