Location v The flower is located on top of the pedicel. v Flowers are usually found on top of the stem to attract pollinators. v They do this by showing off their fragrance and color. v Pollination plays an important role in the reproductive system.

Functions v Flowers are the reproductive structures of a flowering plant. § The insect lands on the flower § Brushes against the anthers and gets a dusting of pollen § Travels to next flower for more nectar, and leaves some pollen behind. § Pollen travels down the pistil in a thin tube down to the ovule. § Fertilization occurs when the male pollen and female ovule combine. § New seed forms.
