General Standards (Must meet one of the following) 1. Be a whole grain-rich product or have a whole grain as the first ingredient. 2. Have a fruit, vegetable, dairy product, or protein food as the first ingredient. 3. Be a “combination food” with at least ¼ cup fruit and/or vegetable.
Flow Chart Example (Granola Bar) Is this product whole grain-rich? Look at the ingredients label. The first ingredient is a whole grain. So, the granola bar is a whole-grain rich product.
