What is the Florida Standards Assessment? ”The FSA” • A test that was designed to serve Florida students by measuring education gains and progress. • Measures student performance based on the Florida State Standards. • Information from the assessment is used to drive student instruction.

Will the FSA affect my child’s promotion to 5 th or 6 th Grade? NO! Your child will not be retained if he/she does not pass the assessments. HOWEVER, if students in the 5 th grade score a 1 or 2 on the FSA– they will be placed in intensive classes.

When will my child take the FSA? Writing English Language Arts Mathematics Science 1 Test Day 2 Test Days April 2, 2020 May 4 -5, 2020 May 11 -12, 2020 May 18 -19, 2020 80 minutes each session 28 -30 questions each Session 30 -32 questions each Session 30 -33 questions each Session 120 minutes Prompt will be either Opinion or Informative

What can I do at home? Use Technology - i. Ready Read together EVERY night. Use FSA Task Cards. Ask you child questions. Make sure your child is using TEXT EVIDENCE. Review multiplication and division tables. Review your child’s homework.
