Florida Standards Assessment Grades 6 -8 Beachside Montessori Village Parent Night January 28, 2020
FSA--ELA The FSA ELA includes two components which are combined to provide a whole test scale score. 1) A text-based writing component which students respond to one writing task by writing an essay. There are 12 FL. Standards assessed in writing in 6 th & 7 th and 13 in 8 th. 2) A reading & language component in which students respond to reading passages. There are 26 FL. Standards assessed in reading in grades 6 th, 7 th, & 8 th.
FSA ELA The FSA ELA reading assessment is comprised of approximately 6 -8 reading passages with sets of 6 -11 items (questions) based on each passage. There are two types of passages: literary (40%) and informational (60%). Grammar and English conventions are assessed through a grade-level essay where they are asked to evaluate and correct errors.
