NOTE: Use attached picture as a reference for performing the following steps: 2 Place crucible in heating block ensuring that the three round projections engage in the corresponding grooves in the crucible. 3 Push locking arm to the right to latch crucible into heating block. 4 Place lid assembly onto test crucible such that the rectangular groove in the lid aligns with protrusion on test crucible and firmly closes. 5 Attach stirrer coupling, sample thermometer, flashpoint sensor and electrical igniter (if not already attached) to lid assembly as shown in diagram below. Take the tie rod for the rotary slide out of the support on the holder for the storage pot and place onto the opening provided for it on the rotary slide. 6 7 Inspect coil on electrical igniter – if dirty or crushed together, replace. NOTE: On starting first the rotary slide on crucible lid is briefly opened for a zero-point adjustment. With a further insertion cycle a check is made whether the igniter and thermocouple are correctly positioned and inserted. 15 If an error occurs during the measurement, the test is cancelled and a continuous tone sounds – press the alarm switch-off button, a pop-up window emerges that gives a brief description of the error as well as the error number. 16 When the flashpoint has been determined successfully, an acoustic signal sounds which is silenced by pressing the alarm switch-off button. The result of the flashpoint is displayed. 17 Record result from instrument display. 18 Take test crucible out of heating block and place it in the storage pot for cooling. 19 Remove the stirrer coupling, flashpoint sensor and thermometer from lid of crucible and place in black holder provided on left side of the analyzer. 20 Place tie rod in groove provided on left side of storage pot holder. 21 Leave igniter attached to lid assembly as it tends to get damaged easily when moved. 22 Once cooled, empty test crucible and rinse with toluene followed by acetone to clean.
