FIVE THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY BY DEVAN YEOH
LOCATION John Oliver Secondary School is located at 41 st & St. George, and this bus stop outside the school shows this.
LOCATION Another way to find the location of the school is to provide an address. The school is in the 5700 block of Fraser St.
LOCATION The school is also located across the street from a cemetery, where this picture was taken.
PLACE One of the ways of identifying place is to give the name of the place. In this photo, I am standing outside, next to the sign for the school.
PLACE Place also refers to the physical features of the area. Many evergreen trees can be seen in the background of this photo. These trees, along with the grey clouds overhead, suggest that the climate of this area is temperate, which separates it from many other places in the world.
HUMANENVIRONMENT INTERACTION The school field shows an example of humans modifying their environment. By making a very flat and regulated field, it is easier to run on the field and play sports.
MOVEMENT This image shows the movement of goods. Goods come in through ports and through trucks, and then they are sold at stores just like this one.
MOVEMENT This image has an example of many different types of movement. With the water fountain, water is being transported from reservoirs to the school through pipes. The garbage and compost bins, meanwhile, show the movement of trash and compost to landfills and compost facilities, respectively.
REGION One way of defining region is through borders. This Canadian flag shows that John Oliver is within Canada.
