Fitness Behavior Short Term Long Term BY JANELLE
Fitness Behavior: Short Term/ Long Term BY: JANELLE BOWDEN
Short Term vs. Long Term O Short term fitness behavior consist of becoming exerciser or physically fit for a short period of time to gain something. O Long term fitness behavior consist of becoming a regular exerciser or regularly being physically fit.
Why Many Do Not Have Ongoing Results O Many individuals rather pick up fitness goals such as loosing 22 lbs in so many weeks, or gain 5 lbs, when instead they should pick up behavioral/lifestyle changes to actually maintain their health for long periods of times instead of only a short period of time.
What’s Problem? O Not only does social influences decreases one’s fitness behavior, but lack of motivation from yourself does also. O It seems the older you get the more your fitness behavior level goes down.
Children/Youth Fitness Behavior O Fun and challenging physical activities make kids want to stay active. O Children who are low on fitness measures in elementary school tend to remain at risk during adolescence. O Children may not develop a good fitness pattern or behavior due to reduced opportunities such as physical education classes, community programs, etc…or simply because the physical activity is not fun.
Adult Fitness Behavior O Adult’s everyday life may hinder them from being physically active or remaining physically active. Things such as …. Work life. Kids You as an adult are no longer obligated to work out or be physically active like you were when you were younger.
Elders/ Older Adults O No age group is at a greater health risk than older citizens/elders, that can all depend on your fitness behavior. O Most men and women who are now seniors grew up in a time where they knew little about health benefits of remaining active and exercising constantly.
Fitness Behavior Effects Good Bad O Stable weight/ O Weight Gain weight loss O More energy O Remain healthy O Happy lifestyle O A lack of energy O Circulatory problems O Muscle loss O Depressed lifestyle
My Opinion O In my opinion…. fitness behavior + effort = physically fit In order to remain physically fit you have to maintain your fitness behavior and actually want to be healthy. Just because you are smaller than other’s doesn’t mean that you are actually fit.
