Common Mistakes n Starting late n n Not asking for help prior to submitting the report n n Will review later in the presentation Lack of visual aids n 5 CDR is pretty late in the game to be asking major questions, so please ask for help ASAP if you need help with your rocket. Not using (or breaking) the formatting n n Reports aren’t something you can do in a few hours, the day before. It will take days/weeks to complete all work required to fill out the template Rock. Report Formatting (1 of 2) n Feel free to change up (personalize) the template n n n However, you should not change n n n Order of sections, section titles, footers, headers Table of Contents (except to update) The Template is the minimum information asked for n n 11 You can change backgrounds, header types/formats, title page, text colors You may add subsections (continue heading types) You may add images, figures and tables and associated captions You may add List of Figures and List of Tables You may add as many Appendix as you need (not included in 40 -pg limit) Please add images where deemed relevant (picture worth a thousand words) You may expand analysis, or project plans or safety 07 January 2022 CDR Development Webinar

Virtual Presentation Best Practice n n n Write the CDR Report first, so all details are defined Keep it brief - only add key aspects Follow the slide order in the presentation template n n Highlight the visual portions of your report n n n Rock. Sim screenshots Drawings or graphics to convey your design Tables for key values like static margin, thrust-to-weight ratio, etc. Limited to 10 minutes; every team member should present The virtual presentation is an opportunity to get immediate verbal feedback from both judges and the admin team, so ensure you include anything you want feedback on n 14 Makes it harder for judges to give good feedback if you don’t do this Prepare 1 -2 questions ahead of time for the FNL admin team and judges 07 January 2022 CDR Development Webinar
