When must a worksite have first-aid trained employees? In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace, one or more employees must be adequately trained to render first -aid. “Near proximity” generally means within 3 -4 minutes. Certain industries have more specific requirements. 2
