Fermilab’s Fire Depart. Mission • The primary mission of Fermilab Fire Department is to protect and preserve life and property through prevention, inspection and training. This includes educating all of our employees on site to be better aware of fire and emergency medical concepts. To have total control of a fire related emergency scene, we use the Incident Command System. • Fermilab Fire Department maintains an adequate response to initiate interior rescue and firefighting in a timely and safe manner with minimum risk to the responding emergency personnel and at an optimum cost with minimum manning. Daily tasks include maintenance, testing, and inspection of station equipment/apparatus and facilities on site, plus shift training is conducted. 19 January 2015
