Salient Features of Fire Safety : In Tunnels • System design: One train in one tunnel section having a fire load of One Car 20 MW. • Tunnel Ventilation System: Safe evacuation path § 100 -125 m 3/sec. bi-directional fans (350 -375 KW ) § Provided at each end of the Tunnel openings Up/Down § Connected to atmosphere for exhaust and fresh air. • Cross Passages at every 250 Mtrs distance for safe evacuation through adjacent Tunnel path in case of fire emergency. • Fire Hydrant System with double headed landing valve at every distance of 50 Mtrs for entire tunnel

Salient Features of Fire Safety : Stations (UG) • Smoke Ventilation System aligned with Station Environment Control System. Smoke is extracted through • Platform Area: Track way Exhaust Fans through Under platform Exhaust & Over-track Exhaust. • Concourse Area: Smoke Exhaust Fans, ducts & dampers • Medium Velocity Water Spray System for extinguishing fire in train’s undercarriage. • Fire Alarm & Detection System: to sense and raise alarm for heat, smoke & fire. • Fire Suppression System: Fire Hydrants, Water Tank cap. 200 KL with automatically operated Pumps Cap. 2850 LPM • Portable Fire Extinguishers • Designated Fire Escape Routes (Emergency Staircase & Fireman Staircase)

Station • Total Gas Flooding System: § UG stations of Ph- I & II network provided with Total Gas Flooding System (Inergen IG-541/ Argonite IG- 55 @ 300 bars pressure) automatically operated on activation of double fire alarms. • Panel Gas Flooding System: • UG Stations of Ph- III network provided with Panel based Gas flooding System (NOVEC-1230 @ 15 -20 bars pressure) Self-actuating system with help of heat sensitive tubings.
