Theatre Arts 120 (may also be called Dramatic Arts 110) Prerequisite: None • Course description: This course is an introduction to the basic elements of drama. We will learn and practice various theatre conventions and terminology. Some topics of study will include pantomime, voice and diction, movement, improvisation, character development, monologues, blocking, scene study, scene development. • What you need to know: Participation is the key to this course. You must be willing to speak/perform in front of your classmates. You will also have to memorize lines. • Out of class time: 1 -2 hrs per week

The performance component involves practicing individually and with a group, setting goals, and possibilities of public performances. • What you need to know: This course is intended for students who are serious about studying music. They are either pursuing music studies after high school or have a strong interest in learning about music on a deeper level. All students play an instrument in this course. • Out of Class time: 1 -2 hrs. per week

Visual Art 110 Prerequisite: Visual Arts 10 Visual Arts 110 builds on the experience and knowledge gained in Visual Arts 9/10. The studio work remains in the areas of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture and stresses personal expression and the development of artwork that is meaningful to you. Matheus Crepaldi – Watercolour Painting There is also exploration of various contemporary artists through art history and art criticism. This is not lecture-style as in previous grades, it is a round table discussion. • Out of class time: 2 -3 hrs. per week Daytona Mc. Collaborative Mural Collaborative Calendar Fundraiser Visual Arts 120 Prerequisite: Visual Arts 110 This course is designed for students to work through a review of skills and concepts and choose areas of personal interest that lead to advanced work on a material. Students are required to critique aspects of their and other artists’ process and product. The option for collaborative projects is available, however, developing personal work is important for those students taking the class with the goal of creating a portfolio.
