Why do you need a writing process? © © It can help writers to organize their thoughts. It can help writers to avoid frustration and procrastination. It can help writers to use their time productively and efficiently. Your writing is better after it has gone through the writing process.

4. Revising: reviewing ideas Look for ways to improve your writing! This is content focused! ° ° Adding—What else does reader need to know? Rearranging—Is information in the most logical and effective order? Removing—What unnecessary details are in this piece of writing? Replacing—What words can be replaced by clearer stronger expression?
5. Editing © Review writing at sentence level and individual word choices: Spelling ° Punctuation ° Sentence structure ° Documentation style °
Proofreading tips © © Slowly read your paper aloud. Read your paper backwards. Exchange papers with a friend. NOTE: Spell check will not catch everything, and grammar checks are often wrong!
6. Final Draft/Publishing © No piece of writing is ever finished. © Complete the most polished paper you can in the time given.
