F & L Committee’s Charge Committee Goals/Objectives (charge) Under the direction of the Executive

F & L Committee’s Charge Committee Goals/Objectives (charge) Under the direction of the Executive Board, provide for the detailed study and learning of State & Federal Finance and Legislative Issues including the implications for special education administration. Recommend MAASE Position and Input Statements to the Executive Board and Legislative Action Committee. Propose additions/deletions to the official MAASE Legislative Platform. Establish and maintain a “MAASE Finance & Legislative Resource Center” on the MAASE Website.

Why Participate? Hear directly from OSE on: Finance from a state and federal perspective as well as program accountability Regular participants include: John Andrejack, Dianne Easterling, Sheryl Diamond, Nancy Rotarius, Joanne Winkleman Yesterday’s meeting: Uniform Grant Guidance will be in place for grants starting in July. There will be additional focus on performance and outcomes as well as compliance. Guidance intended to protect from fraud, waste and abuse. The MDE will need to complete a risk assessment for all grant recipients prior to providing funding. OSE reports are a regular part of the agenda, but the meeting is also a great opportunity to discuss specific questions in an informal, collaborative basis.
