final major project pitch

project proposal i am planning on making a documentary/short film about aspects of hip hop that are quite un-heard of by the majority but very interesting when you read into them. the project will be 10 minutes long as my focus group all liked the length of my examples which were around that time mark. The topics/aspects that will make up the project: the art of sampling, the style of certain producers (dj premier, j dilla) then flow and rhyming. going into more detail about the topics, the art of sampling will be a shorten version of the 'rhythm roulette' series i used as an example. This is where a producer is given three random vinyls they have to sample then make a beat out of on the spot.

then I will proceed to go in the topic of the style of certain producers, for this I will analyze the samples they use, the way they produce their beats and how that makes their style unique. lastly i will go into the The flow and rhyming topic where I will analyze each artist's rhyme scheme which is how they rhythm and what makes it so unique. For locations there's only two which is firstly my house where I do some of the The filming will be done for the casey neistat d. i. y style and the voiceover then the rhythm roulette will be filmed at the producers house. My target audience is both males and females who are students that are either teens or young adults that are working class and also creative people that are aged from 30 to 40. this was all found out by the primary and secondary research i did. As majority of it will shot at home the budget is very small except from travel to the producers house and food whilst i am there.

for inspiration I watched these videos, they gave me the style I wanted to interpretate into my own about something I have a real interest in.
