Idea 1 Article and images about the rise of coffee culture; A factual document about how the coffee industry has risen, why its has risen and what is it about coffee that has gained such a large culture. Idea 2 Factual video about independent coffee shops; A video questioning how independent coffee shops survive against big chain coffee shops, what effects does big chain coffee shops have on independent and what they do to survive. Idea 3 Online photography portfolio about coffee culture and trends; A portfolio on different trends in the coffee industry

333 Idea 1 Article and images about the rise of coffee culture After talking to my class about this idea, we all agreed this idea isn’t my strongest idea, it has some good qualities but it might now be enough for some people I like the idea but I don’t think it will be my final choice Strengths: I have a good understanding of coffee culture as it is. I'm also in a position where I can find the evidence and additional information about the question at hand. Weaknesses; : I struggle with writing and elaborating on points, therefore it wouldn’t be my full potential Opportunities: This kind of article hasn’t been done in the coffee industry therefore it would be new and interesting Threats: Its possible that I wont have enough evidence to answer my questions exactly

YOUTH Idea 2 Factual video about independent coffee shops This idea was one of my better ones, as a group we found that it might be the most impactful, however I'm not the best with filmography. I will definitely consider this as an option Strengths: I can easily find multiple independent shops that I can talk to the owner of, therefore research would be easy Weaknesses: I am not 100% on filming and wouldn’t be comfortable with this project Opportunities: this would be a great opportunity to put out awareness for local independent shops or people looking to open their own shop Threats: This project may be too much for the time frame

HE Idea 3 Strengths: Photography is my favourite part of the course, something I'm really passionate about Weaknesses: Some businesses and/ or people wont want me taking pictures Opportunities: I could help a few independent shops out with advertisement Threats: My camera batteries could die midway through shooting Online photography portfolio on coffee culture This personally was my preferred option, photography is the place where I feel most comfortable. I feel as if I could excel in the particular area.

V Finalized idea For this project I have decided to go with idea 3, I feel like this is my strongest subject and I feel as if I could successfully create a good portfolio and written report on the latest coffee trends and how coffee culture has evolved. I want to get a good representation of the coffee lifestyle so as well as reading about it they can see exactly what I am talking about.
