FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE • Language that uses words or expressions to convey something other than the literal meaning! • Literal language vs. Figurative language –Literally: “It’s raining really hard. ” –Figuratively: “It’s raining cats and dogs!” • Figurative language is a way to describe something in a creative way
