ELA test facts: • 61 total questions. • Section 1 will be given on Day 1. You will be given a maximum of 90 minutes to complete the section. • Sections 2 and 3 will be given over one or two days. You may have up to 85 minutes to complete each section. • There are two kinds of texts—literary and informational text. • There are two kinds of essays students may be asked to write —an opinion essay and an informational or explanatory essay. • Students will also write an extended constructed-response using narrative techniques. Students may be asked to continue a story or perhaps write a new beginning, for example. The stimulus text may be literary or informational.
