Fiberglass Tank Pipe Institute Presentation DoubleWall Tank Sump

Fiberglass Tank & Pipe Institute Presentation Double-Wall Tank Sump Session 2017 ASTSWMO May Meeting (May 23 -25, 2017)

Round DW Collars 42” and 48” round collars Accepts round base of sumps for rotation and precise alignment www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Polygon Sump Base Bottom of polygon sump base transitions to round Allows for precise adjustment of base so flat panels align with entry fittings and pipe runs www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

8 -Sided Polygon Sump Bases Both the 42” and 48” diameter sumps are 8 -sided Allows for proper alignment of pipe and entry fitting for 90 and 45 degree couplings www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Drain/Test Fitting Threaded fitting and plug Designed for annual testing and demonstrating communication between tank collar and sump www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

2 -Piece Design Bottom section of polygon base is 2’ high Avoids confined space entry Makes installing pipe penetrations easier Permits immediate pre-testing of entry penetrations www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Joint Options Adhesive Channels Sumps are Layup Joint connected Sumps arethrough factory installed connected through adhesive channels field installed layup withsupplied kit adhesive kit www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Watertight Lid Manufactured out of fiberglass No mechanical fasteners Optional inspection port Watertight gasket design www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Reservoir Integral fiberglass reservoir that cannot be easily damaged during routine maintenance PVC threaded opening Convenient access to sensor www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Palletized Sumps Sumps may be palletized for transportation and jobsite storage Prevents damage in transit or on-site www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

ASSEMBLED TANK SUMPS www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Assembled Tank Sumps All piping and electrical penetrations (supplied by others) must seal the tank sump annular space Do not connect the tank sump annular space to any other annular space www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

POST ASSEMBLY TEST www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Post Assembly Test Prior to backfilling: The annular space may be pressure tested to a maximum of 3 psig during the installation After pressurizing, apply a soap and water solution to the entire surface area on the inside and outside of the tank sump Carefully inspect for leaks as indicated by continuous formation of bubbles Maintain test pressure and continue inspection for 30 minutes. Then release pressure www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

ANNULAR SPACE MONITORING www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Annular Space Monitoring Hydrostatically Monitored Annular Space Monitoring solutions available Brine – Calcium Chloride Solution Propylene Glycol Solution Vacuum Monitored Annular Space Vacuum monitoring may be used utilizing the factory installed fitting Maximum continuous vacuum level shall not exceed 5 psig (10. 2”Hg) www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com

Annular Space Monitoring Fill the tank sump with the required number of gallons of monitoring fluid www. fiberglasstankandpipe. com
