USRN GOALS/OBJECTIVES Propose & finalize core attributes Develop, refine, and adopt a data model Develop and finalize roadway theme specifications for incorporation into the NSDI
WHAT’S IN A NAME? The Working Group’s efforts will ultimately result in a product that will now be referred to as the: “The U. S. Road Network (USRN) Minimum Content Guideline Specification”
“O CANADA”? Canadian Government presented their national road network (NRN) to the Subcommittee on 2/7/2018 Working Group discussed the Canadian NRN on 2/23/2018 Proposal to adopt the model that supports the Canadian NRN 14
“O CANADA”? (CONT’D) Likely benefits of network adoption: Standards associated with the model have already been accepted Initiates an effort to achieve international network interoperability Begins to establish a “data centric”, as opposed to an “application centric” development model A vote will be taken on 4/11/2018 to determine the potential path forward 15
