Topics • FGDC Steering Committee endorsed National Vegetation Classification Standard, Version 2. 0 • FGDC Standards Working Group (SWG) admitted Cultural Resources Data Standard project into FGDC standards program of work • Standard Practice for Minimum Geospatial Data for a Coal Surface Mining Boundary pending referral to FGDC Coordination Group • SWG recommended that FGDC Coordination Group approve releasing Federal Trails Data Standard for public review 2

Cultural Resources Data Standard • High level of interest from Federal and State Historical Preservation Officers (SHPOs) • Need to address prior SHPO-sponsored efforts • Ambitious schedule • Funding for two summits – Potential shortage if relying on existing grants – Funding needed for SHPO participation • Need for inclusive participation • Concern about existing databases for cultural resources and Federal mandates 3
