Easter was celebrated by the Mystery plays depicting the crucifixion, and was treated much how Christmas is today with gifts and celebrations.
On All Fool's Day, the Jesters, or Lords of Misrule, took charge for the day and caused mayhem with jokes and jests.
October 25 th celebrating St Crispin's Day. Revels, bonfires, and people acted as King Crispin.
May Day was a great celebration and represented the beginning of the courting season for girls. It is one of the most joyous celebrations of the year.
The Day of the Dead was celebrated in November. Began when revels were held and bonfires were lit. Masks were worn for celebration and representation.
Christmas was celebrated for 12 days and didn’t end until January 5.
Halloween During October and when the existence of spirits were supposed to be their strongest Represented death because of the day after “All Saints Day” or the Day of the Dead, but also because it was the start of Winter which always brought death Halloween was still enjoyed with feasts and games, including Fortune Telling which was done way by bobbing for apples with your lover’s name on it.
Festivals
Midsummer’s Eve (Festival of Fire) was celebrated to recognize legends such as St. George and Dragon. This festival consisted of burning bones in a bonfire and shooting fire arrows.
St. Valentine’s Day occurs on February 14 th. On this day, it is common to declare your love and pray to St. Valentine. Fairs were held during this festival.
