ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE MEETING We met in Moscow on March 10 th 2016 B. Battiston (Italy), Z Dailiana (Greece), N. Schmelzer-Schmied (Germany), I. Golubev (Russia), P. Houpt (Netherlands), M. San. Martin (Spain). M. Haerle (General secretary)
2015 -16 7 NEW CENTERS OUT OF 13 APPLYING 36 RENEWED CENTERS 24 no renewal !! TOT. 99 ACCREDITED CENTERS (116 on 2015) OUT OF 349 CENTERS OF 29 COUNTRIES
ACTUALLY The clinical activity is evaluated by the number of operated cases on emergency during a 3 months period A total of 24 cases during this 3 months period is a minimum Of these 24 cases, at least 5 cases must need microsurgical technique
WE DECIDED THAT. . . the number of operated cases on emergency during a 3 months period is declared just with a “yes or not” box confirming that any single surgeon performed a minimum of 24 cases during this 3 months period and at least 5 cases with microsurgical technique
IMPROVAL OF THE NET In last HTC meeting we decided to extend the net to Centers performing hand trauma even if non in a 24 h. emergency setting.
IMPROVAL OF THE NET ACCREDITED HAND TRAUMA CENTER ( HUB) : 24 h. access to a specialist hand trauma team (minimum 3 surgeons, members of the national society, with documented case series of hand surgery and microsurgery for trauma cases) TRAUMA UNIT (SPOKE) : offers early hand specialist led assessment and rehabilitation (minimum 3 surgeons, members of the national society, with documented case series of hand trauma) engages in audit /data collection/ research and education with the accredited Trauma centre
The role of the national representatives is important (DATA CHECK, etc. ) !! Some Centers ask for accreditation without passing through the representatives !!
